Aiden Philip Heimbuch

Poppy holding #11!

Finally! Our little one has arrived!

Wednesday October 8, 2008 at 12:46 pm Aiden Philip was born weighing 7 lbs 11 oz and measured 21 1/2 inches long. I had a c-section on Wednesday afternoon because Aiden was breech and did not want to turn! As you can see in his picture he likes his hands above his head and according to the doctor that delived him, that's exactly how he was inside and he did not want to come out! It took a lot of work by the doctor and the nurses to get him out and when he finally cooperated no one in the room gave us the much anticipated announcement of our babies gender like you see on TV. Someone said, "your son has big feet" and that's how we knew we had a boy!
We had a lot of visitors which was so nice...Aiden met all of his cousins (except the triplets) and all of his aunts and uncles (except Uncle Kevin and Uncle Scott) and of course met his Nanny and Poppy and Grandma and Uncle Chris. Aiden also got to meet a number of my friends from work which was a nice surprise for both of us and our good friend Kris came too. We also had the most wonderful nurses take care of us which made our stay easy. It was a quiet week in the nursery with only 2 other babies born while we were there (until last night when 2 others were in labor) so it was quiet and we had a lot of personal attention from the very friendly and helpful nurses.

It's Saturday afternoon and the three of us are finally home together! The Ohio State game is on in a few short hours and daddy cannot wait to finally watch the Buckyes with his son!

Thank you to everyone that has called, texted, visited, and helped us establish a stylish wardrobe for Aiden with all the adorable outfits!

p.s. let me explain the reason for the song selection playing in the background, Angel of Harlem by U2...when I was wheeled into the operating room the doctors were getting themselves ready and my OB asked if I minded her turning on her i-pod while she was delivering of course I said I didn't mind and she explained that she was going to play her Devil and Angel playlist b/c she likes to see which song babies are born to and if they live up to "their song" after a few months. Well, when she got him out Angel of Harlem was playing so let's hope this little one lives up to his song!
