He's not a newborn anymore...

Hard to believe but Aiden is no longer considered a "newborn" in medical terms. He is now an "infant"...I guess I never really knew there was a difference! We took him to his 2 month check up on Friday and all is great with him! The doctor was very pleased with his growth and his progress! He is now 13 pounds 4 ounces and 24 inches long. He did have to get 4 shots which was heartbreaking to watch b/c he didn't know what hit him and he gave me and Mike the saddest pout we've seen yet! Not to worry, as soon as the nurst was done pricking him, we scooped him up and calmed him down long enough to put his clothes on and get him into his car seat. Thankfully he forgot about the pain before we were out of the parking lot, he was asleep in no time, I think he wore himself out!

Yesterday Aiden and I had dinner at my parents house b/c daddy had plans after work with a client. While we were there we picked up some fun things from Aiden's cousins (the Becklets)! Aiden got his first piece of furniture, a Bumbo chair! When we got home Mike put him in the seat and oh my...we were nearly crying we were laughing so hard! It was so cute, Aiden thought he was such a big boy sitting on his own! He sat there for a good 20 minutes before he had enough and wanted out!

He was talking to daddy while mommy took 200 pictures!

We have a big party this Friday with our friends. There are 8 of us (4 couples) and 3 of the couples have baby boys under 6 months old the other couple has a 3 year old and a little girl due in January. It's going to be a fun time with all the babies together for the first time! I'll be sure to take the camera and get lots of pictures! We also have Mike's work holiday party on Thursday night which will for sure be a good time!

Have a great week everyone!

Thanksgiving!

Mike and I had a wonderful first Thanksgiving with Aiden...we started the day at Grandma's house and enjoyed some time with her. Then we headed to Scott and Susan's where a fun time was had by all at this year's Dornisch Thanksgiving celebration! We all enjoyed the wonderful spread the Cavada's provided (thank you)!

We then tried to have a photo shoot with all 11 grandchildren but as you can see they didn't all want to cooperate but the picture sure does give the sense of chaos that was happening in the "studio"!

The day proved to be a bit too exciting for Daniel to handle! Or maybe he was just trying to get some quiet time away from his sisters!

The eleven little Dornisch "angels"!

The kids table...

We just love this picture of Aiden and his winter hat that Nanny got him that will probably fit him next year too!

Out little turkey.

Can't wait for Christmas! Only 18 more days...can you stand it?!?!

First trip to Chuck E. Cheese!

He is a man of MANY faces!

Mommy and Aiden in his fun
plaid party pants!

What a great day for Aiden's first trip to Chuck E. Cheese! We were there to celebrate Aiden's cousin Max's 5th birthday! Although Aiden is a little too small for the rides and games he had a great time staring at all the lights and listening to the music and the screaming kids!

Tonight we have another birthday party to attend and Aiden is resting before heading to hang out with the rowdy group as we speak! We will be heading to my parents house to enjoy a birthday celebration for my Uncle John along with 3 of my mothers other brothers (Uncle Eddie and Aunt Susan will be missed)! This will be Aiden's first time meeting his great Aunts and Uncles and he is so excited he can hardly wait for us to pack him up and get in the car again!

For those of you that we haven't talked to since Aiden's one month appointment which was last week, he weighed in at a healthy 10 lbs. 11 oz. (he was 7 lbs. 11 oz. when he was born!) and he measured 23 inches long (he was 21 1/2 when he was born). The doctor said he looks great and is progressing very well! Mommy and Daddy were both happy to hear that!

That's all for now, time to get ready to head out!

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

P.S. Happy Birthday to Aiden's Aunt Margo too! Hope Uncle Michael spoils you on your special day!

3 Weeks Old ... Wow!

Kisses from mommy (while
cheering on the Phillies!)

A bear hug for daddy (in their
favorite position!)

Hello there!

I will never get enough kisses
from our little boy!

Possibly the next Michael Phelps??

So it's been three weeks since Aiden was born and I can't believe it! What an awesome 3 weeks it has been! Mike and I actually went out to dinner over the weekend by ourselves while my sister Chris and our nieces McKenna and Hope babysat Aiden. It was nice to get out for a few hours and I think McKenna and Hope (and Aunt Chrissy) had a fun time with Aiden!

Tomorrow is Trick or Treat and we have Aiden's costume all ready to go! Ok, so he won't be ringing door bells and asking for tricks or treats but weather permiting he will be dressed in his costume and wheeled around Nanny and Poppy's neighborhood in his stroller by daddy while his cousins get the treats!

My sister Patty is coming to visit this weekend with the triplets and Aiden is so excited to meet them! Unfortunately Kevin will not be coming with them this time but hopefully Aiden will meet him soon enough!

Before I go, I want to say a quick CONGRATULATIONS to my good friend from college (little) Amy who got married last weekend!!! Unfortunately Mike and I couldn't make it to the festivities in California b/c of Mr. Aiden but we were there in spirit! Amy and Jon...CONGRATULATIONS!! We can't wait to see pictures and hope to see you both soon!

Could it get any better than this???

Aiden's first hang out with the boys...Grandpa, Uncle Brody and Daddy!

Mike's dad and little brother came from Ohio to visit and meet Aiden this weekend and we had a great time! It was so nice to see them and Aiden had a great time hanging out with the boys watching his first Ohio State game (which they won)! We're hoping tomake a trip to Ohio before the end of the year so Aiden can see where daddy grew up and see Grandpa and Uncle Brody again!

Mike's other brother, Uncle Christopher, also got to meet his first nephew and Grandma also came to visit us from Ohio last week! We had a nice time with Chris and Grandma at our house just hanging out! They were so generous and got Aiden some really adorable clothes, socks, a blanket...all kinds of nice stuff! Since Uncle Chris is local we'll be seeing him regularly and we're hoping to see Grandma more often as well.

Daddy's new favorite position!

Such a big boy...Holding his own bottle already! Wouldn't that be nice!?!?

ALL SMILES! (or is it gas!!)

So it's been 12 days and we couldn't be happier! What did we do before Aiden?? He is such a good baby and he is a joy to have around! Mike is proving to be a fantastic father and I couldn't do it without him! I just love to watch Mike with Aiden! We are having so much fun with him...every day is truly wonderful!

I took Aiden to daddy's football game yesterday which was the Pee Wee teams first play off game this year...they won 7-0...Go CHARGERS!! Now they play again on Saturday night "under the lights" against Harrisburg!! Should be a good game.

Today Nanny Dornisch came to our house to visit, hang out with Aiden while I showered and straightened the house and to take us shopping! What a lifesaver...what would we do without Nanny??

That's all for now...hopefully I'll have some more time this week to post some more pictures!

Have a great week everyone!!

Aiden Philip Heimbuch

Poppy holding #11!

Finally! Our little one has arrived!

Wednesday October 8, 2008 at 12:46 pm Aiden Philip was born weighing 7 lbs 11 oz and measured 21 1/2 inches long. I had a c-section on Wednesday afternoon because Aiden was breech and did not want to turn! As you can see in his picture he likes his hands above his head and according to the doctor that delived him, that's exactly how he was inside and he did not want to come out! It took a lot of work by the doctor and the nurses to get him out and when he finally cooperated no one in the room gave us the much anticipated announcement of our babies gender like you see on TV. Someone said, "your son has big feet" and that's how we knew we had a boy!
We had a lot of visitors which was so nice...Aiden met all of his cousins (except the triplets) and all of his aunts and uncles (except Uncle Kevin and Uncle Scott) and of course met his Nanny and Poppy and Grandma and Uncle Chris. Aiden also got to meet a number of my friends from work which was a nice surprise for both of us and our good friend Kris came too. We also had the most wonderful nurses take care of us which made our stay easy. It was a quiet week in the nursery with only 2 other babies born while we were there (until last night when 2 others were in labor) so it was quiet and we had a lot of personal attention from the very friendly and helpful nurses.

It's Saturday afternoon and the three of us are finally home together! The Ohio State game is on in a few short hours and daddy cannot wait to finally watch the Buckyes with his son!

Thank you to everyone that has called, texted, visited, and helped us establish a stylish wardrobe for Aiden with all the adorable outfits!

p.s. let me explain the reason for the song selection playing in the background, Angel of Harlem by U2...when I was wheeled into the operating room the doctors were getting themselves ready and my OB asked if I minded her turning on her i-pod while she was delivering of course I said I didn't mind and she explained that she was going to play her Devil and Angel playlist b/c she likes to see which song babies are born to and if they live up to "their song" after a few months. Well, when she got him out Angel of Harlem was playing so let's hope this little one lives up to his song!

Any minute now...

-Daniel was all smiles all weekend!

-Andrew after his tough game
Another weekend has come and gone and no baby! We managed to keep ourselves busy again to pass the time. Mike had a football game on Saturday morning and I went shopping with my mother, Patty and Susan. I didn't make it too long before I needed to go home and take a nap! The rest of our Saturday was filled with watching football and layong on the couch (we're enjoying those lazy days while we can!) Then Sunday was another fun filled day in Mechanicsburg...Mike got up early and went to church with my parents, I didn't make it b/c I wasn't feeling that great in the morning and sitting, standing, kneeling in the church isn't exactly comfortable when you're as big as I am! I did manage to meet Mike, my parents, Patty, Kevin and the triplets for breakfast which was delicious as usual. We then headed to the St. Joe's Chargers football games to watch Andrew play and Mike coach again. Unfortunately neither Andrew's team nor Mike's teams won but it was a beautiful day for football! Then off to Susan and Scott's to celebrate Nanny's birthday! A yummy dinner was enjoyed while playing more football out back, passing the triplets around, watching McKenna's new cheerleading routine, watching NFL games, etc. etc. etc.
It was a great weekend with the family as usual and we are looking forward to another great weekend ahead...hopefully the baby will be here to meet his/her Uncle Michael and cousin Maggie who will be visiting from Boston (Aunt Margo will not be here but she will be missed) we all can't wait to see Maggie now that she's walking!!!
Today was my last day of work. I did go in this morning for about 45 minutes and then left. I don't think it's hit me yet that I don't have to go back to work until January but I know it'll fly by so I'm enjoying every moment! I have a few things that I want to get done around the house before the baby arrives so I better get moving since it could happen at any minute!
Make sure you all keep your phones on from now until you hear from us b/c let me tell you, there is NOT much more room in this belly for this baby so he/she doesn't have much more wiggle room before they have no choice but to arrive (and my ankles can't get much more swollen before I won't be able to walk)!
We will keep you posted on any progress and I promise as soon as he/she arrives we will post plenty of pictures!!!
